Ballyvolane House Autumn/Winter latest newsletter
Autumn has definitely arrived in Ireland bringing with it all the changes of darker nights, scrunching golden leaves underfoot, floating layers of mist, sparkling spiders webs, musty scents of damp earth and woodsmoke, it can only be autumn.
Come and stay soon and explore the many wonderful walking trails and hikes nearby where you can take in breathtaking views and sunsets of north east County Cork. Alternatively, just sit back and relax in front of our open log fires with a good book whilst you sip on a Bertha’s Hedgerow Martini.
After what has been a busy summer full of guests visiting from all over the world, wonderful weddings and exclusive house rentals, we would like to extend a huge thank you to our guests for choosing Ballyvolane House. We would also like to thank our amazing team, who’s hard work and dedication is fundamental to the well-being of Ballyvolane House. Travel Curator ‘Experience Ireland through these incredible country retreats’ by Madeline Weinfield
“When people speak of Ireland, they tend to get misty in the eye. Perhaps it’s because of familial connections, long ties that bind, or perhaps it’s due to the landscape dotted with ruins seemingly pulled out of a fairy tale. Maybe it is the Irish’s love of storytelling and music, or perhaps, as we would guess, it’s because of the Emerald Isle’s famed hospitality. Home to some of the most charming small hotels, family-run inns, and literal castles, staying in Ireland has the feel of moving in and out of a story book, where each day you can become something new, immerse yourself into a fresh page, another tale, and try it all on for size.”

Irish Times “A stay fit for a future king and queen at Ballyvolane House” by Gemma Tipton
Massive thanks to Gemma Tipton for writing about Ballyvolane House in the Irish Times. The article coincides with National Heritage Week which is a celebration of Ireland’s built heritage.
Justin and Jenny took over the reins from Justin’s parents Jeremy and Merrie twenty years ago and the article looks back at how Ballyvolane House has evolved during this time. Preserving historic houses in important work and we were delighted to have had an opportunity to share our story with Gemma. She has captured the spirit(s) of the place perfectly (in terms of our ethos and in terms of another kind of spirit - Bertha’s Revenge Gin).
