Feasts shared with other guests at Coombeshead Farm and Ballyvolane House also bubble into my mind, as well as a particular dish of freshly picked alexanders at Gurnard’s Head, of salsify gratin at the Pheasant in Harome, of wild mushrooms at Hambleton Hall and of lobster, prepared at the table as if by magic by Diego Masciaga at the Waterside Inn.”

We are delighted to introduce you to a new nautical member of Justin & Antony’s little herd Bertha’s Revenge Navy Strength Gin. They have raised the ABV to a lip-pursing 57.1%, and have shuffled the botanical blend slightly to accentuate one or two of the more pronounced flavour notes. The extra strength gives our merry crew of spices a megaphone through which to convey their message, which is as smooth and as well-balanced as you would expect from a cow riding at anchor.

Aoife O’Connell Walsh and James Walsh said “I do” in a gorgeous ceremony on December 28th in a rustic-chic barn on the ground of Ballyvolane House with just 17 close family members present.

“Ballyvolane was incredible,” Aoife said. “We were looking for somewhere that was different, somewhere that wasn’t your typical wedding venue”.
