National Heritage Week 2026 – Heritage at Risk: The Living Heritage of Ballyvolane House

National Heritage Week - Ballyvolane House

Join us on Thursday, 20th August 2026 at Ballyvolane House for a special National Heritage Week afternoon exploring the built, natural and cultural heritage of this historic County Cork country house and estate.

Led by Justin Green, owner and custodian of Ballyvolane House, the tour will explore the history and architecture of the house, the stories of those who have cared for it, and the challenges of preserving a historic property for future generations.

Justin will also share some of the work being done today to maintain and protect Ballyvolane, and what it means for a historic house to remain part of Ireland’s active, living heritage.

The afternoon begins with tea, coffee, homemade cakes and pastries on arrival, followed by a tour of the house and a guided walk through the gardens and grounds, including mature trees, woodland and wildlife habitats.

Ballyvolane House is a proud member of Historic Houses of Ireland.
