Wild Things at Ballyvolane House: A Guided Biodiversity Walk Through Gardens, Woods & Lakes

Join Justin Green for a guided walk through the gardens, woods and estate at Ballyvolane House from 11am until 1pm on Friday, 22nd May 2026. This is part of National Biodiversity Week 2026.

Ballyvolane is home to woodland, four lakes, abundant birdlife, pollinators, amphibians and a thriving population of much-loved red squirrels. During the walk, Justin will share stories about the estate’s wildlife and habitats, as well as the ongoing work to protect and improve biodiversity across the grounds.

Visitors will hear about waterfowl nesting tubes, bird boxes, bat boxes, native tree planting and winter bird food crops, all part of Ballyvolane’s efforts to create safe, rich habitats for wildlife. May is one of the most beautiful times of year to visit, and the gardens should be looking spectacular.

Date: Friday, 22nd May 2026 Time: 11am to 1pm Location: Ballyvolane House, Castlelyons, Co. Cork Tickets: €15 per person, including coffee, tea and homemade pastries in the house on arrival. Booking Info: Click on the button below to book tickets online.
