Gold Medal Award 'Field to Fork' for Ballyvolane House

We are chuffed-to-bits that Ballyvolane House won a Gold Medal Award of the 'Field to Fork' category at the annual Gold Medal Awards in Dublin on Monday, 22 September 2014. Needless to say, we are delighted and would like to thank the judges and especially all the team at Ballyvolane for all their hardwork, committment and good humour. We would also like to thank our local suppliers too. Massive thanks to my father and Elaine in the gardens and above all, to Teena and the kitchen team. We are celebrating!

The feedback from the judges for this category was glowing and this is what they said about us:

The owner is very passionate. The Chef uses fruit and vegetables from their walled-garden. They have their own rare-breed pigs, hens and ducks, use fish from the Blackwater river, in house baking and preserves. Other ingredients sourced from Cork, Tipperary and Waterford. Their communal dining was an excellent experience, and the quality of cooking was excellent country house cooking.
